1991 MASTERCRAFT PRO-STAR 190
$9,000
Description
The 1991 MasterCraft ProStar 190 is a legendary hull in the water ski world. This was the first year MasterCraft introduced the "New" ProStar 190 hull (replacing the 1987–1990 design), which featured the Powerslot hull technology and a much flatter wake, making it the official towboat for many world-class competitions at the time.
Boat Specifications
- Hull Type: Modified-V with a flat transom (Direct Drive)
- Construction: All-fiberglass (MasterCraft was one of the first to eliminate wood stringers entirely around this era).
Key Features for the 1991 Edition
- The Wake: Known for being incredibly soft and flat at slalom speeds (28–36 mph). At lower speeds, it’s a bit firm, but it was specifically engineered to be "barely there" for competitive skiers.
- Dashboard: This year featured the classic "square" dash pod with analog gauges. Note that 1991 models used Air-Guide mechanical speedometers, which rely on small pitot tubes on the transom.
- Interior: Classic "closed bow" design with a center motor box. The "European" style rear trunk was a signature of this era, providing storage for skis and ropes behind the rear bench.
